Great wine and even better people. My favourite winery. Don’t need a fancy building to make guests feel welcome and the organic wines speak for themselves. I will be back again and again.
Really knowledgeable tasting team that was fun and relaxed. Their chardonnay was our favorite and we really enjoyed their pinot noir. Definitely looking forward to the wines they produce in the future. Be sure to check them out if you are in the area they are certified organic.
What a great experience! The wine, the ciders and the hospitality! We stopped at this location while on a wicked wine tour, and hands down the BEST one we stopped at by far! Make sure you taste test both the wine and cider – you will not be disappointed!
The View Winery and Wards Cider has the best of both worlds. No one should have to choose between wine and cider! Beautiful location with kind and knowledgeable staff! I highly reccomend going for a tasting!
We really enjoyed our visit at this winery, the owner is a very nice person and their wines , the Gewusztraminer and the sparkling wine are really well made… thanks again for your hospitality. Marc and Catherine
the tasting here was above and beyond expectations, we had Anthony as our ‘guide’ if you will. he was smart, funny, and a phenomenal host. when I come back I will for sure wait for him to be free.
the fire baked pizza was also a great addition. it’s very highly recommended.
My husband and I know nothing about wine, but the scenery was beautiful and the service from Lark was outstanding! She really taught us a lot about how to taste wine and was very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a great time and would highly recommend Quails Gate! (Please note it was unfortunately a very smokey day before judging the view in the photo! Still pretty though!)
Great venue for trying out wine. A bit higher end than some of the other vineyards nearby. The restaurant outdoor patio is one the best I have been on for atmosphere. Great views of the lake, vineyard and rolling hills. Almost like being in Tuscany.
This was truly the nicest winery we have ever visited. In addition to the beautiful grounds and exceptional wine, the service was on another level. My partner and I went with another couple, and each of us enjoy different wines and have different levels of expertise. We had a private wine tasting with Carlie who made each of us feel comfortable and engaged throughout the process. Her warm personality and extensive knowledge made it feel as though we had a friend with us during the tasting. We would highly recommend Mission Hill, and if you can request Carlie for your tasting!
AMAZING environment there. Heard a musician who was playing a song on a guitar. Loved the way they serve you a wine in a glass to taste. Describes you well about winery. Picture clicking spots are nice there… we loved it!!
We booked the private lunch experience and were not disappointed! Our sommelier, Brittany A, was a lovely character that took her time with us with each pairing and ensured we were well taken care of. Definitely dress for the weather! Our cellar tour was done by a lovely knowledgeable woman with a French accent whose name I can’t recall (Sorry!). Beautiful views, beautiful food, beautiful facility, beautiful wine! Will definitely go back and would absolutely recommend!
Really lackluster casino. Lots of slots…but not impressed. The bar area was small and food not good Service was awesome, the lady at the til was so friendly and hardworking. I felt terrible for the employees as it was quite hot in there despite having ac??? Kind of thought they would have something cool going on for the re opening after 18 months, no one seemed to really care. Also I don’t know why it is advertised as Caribbean themed…nothing to indicate such.
Came here quite often to just enjoy some drinks at the bar. Had nice places to sit and had a fun time hanging with a couple friends. First time gambling with my friends at the roulette table. Made great memories!
Despite this being a rough year, I paid over $500 for a box at the Christmas show as it’s a tradition I have with my wife, and we wanted to continue to support local businesses like KAS. However, when they cancelled the show, they wouldn’t give me a refund and said I should have purchased refund protection insurance that was offered on the phone call when I bought the tickets (it wasn’t).
These challenging times aren’t exclusive to the entertainment industry, and I’m disappointed at the way KAS is treating their supporters.
Great winery, great service. Very unique wines and blends. If you like ice wines they have some very tastey blends which mellows out the ice wine. Look forward to going back!
After booking a reservation for 7 people at the restaurant after our wedding ceremony, we arrived to our booking and then we’re told we would have to be sat at separate tables due to restrictions. British Columbia is no longer mandating restaurants to cap tables at a maximum of 6 guests, this change happened on July 1st and it is now July 25th. We understood that this could be their personal policy and we accepted that, apologized to them for cancelling and were on our way out to find somewhere else . As we were walking out we had two members staff continue to follow and tell us that these are the restrictions everywhere and we should have known before booking… although they accepted our booking and did not mention this. The man on the patio was pretty rude, no apology just made excuses. The female staff member did apologize but also again told us we should have known… very poor customer service. I wouldn’t mind if what they were explaining to us were the correct restrictions, however they weren’t and should not blame customers for not knowing their policies. That should have been explained to us at the time of booking.
Lovely location with a beautiful view of the vineyard and lake. The menu had a nice variety and the portions were generous. We found the wine menu had limited information (name and suggested pairing and not necessarily the type). The wine was good and the service was good though unenthusiastic.
Changed too much. When it was smaller and just about apple orchards set up was better with lots more fun things to see and learn. There were things to buy at a reasonable price. I bought my apple peeler there years ago. Info about wine is good.
Great museum. Downtown sited in an old Apple Warehouse. Great displays on Apple processing and wine making in the Okanagan valley. Would be a great place for a cider exhibit!
A vital link to British Columbia’s wine industry. This is where it started. Plenty of historical displays to be seen, plus wines to be tasted. Two tasting areas, Calona Wines and Sandhill Wines.
Little Straw was my favourite winery out of the 4 I went to! I bought 3 bottles of wine and I would definitely go again when I’m back in Kelowna. The staff were also super friendly.
If your into lighter wines this winery carries BFF a lighter red which was a big hit. Skip the Qails Gates and Mission Hills of the world and support these quaint smaller wineries instead. Affordable and good wines 5 stars.
Little straw has the best wine of the 4 wineries we went to in west Kelowna (those other ones being Grizzli, The Hatch, and Quail’s Gate). I deeply regret not buying a bottle. I wish little straw all the success in the world.
Another one of the great farmers markets I have had the pleasure to visit. Many local growers in vegetables with many being from organic farms. Also many meats available from ethical farms. So much variety to choose from. Also many artistic vendors as well. Did not see any leather workers which was unfortunate. But overall great place to stop. Open on Wednesday and Saturday.
The market was nice as always. It is still a little early in the season but still had a good mix of products. It does get busy later in the day and some of the berry and bakeries run out of things. We usually go early and have no problem. The vendors are friendly and not pushy. There are arrows to follow but not everyone was following along.
This year it was nice seeing some new vendors! Pur family loves going and the food is always good.
Super awesome crew!!! On time and friendly- knowledgeable and fun. 😀 We are locals and my son and I had a blast!! You can see if the day is nice and usually book same day- so convenient. Highly recommend this company and relaxing activity. 🤙🏽
Went here last week and had an amazing experience thanks to Luke and Brandon(Brian?). They were extremely helpful and really went above and beyond to accommodate me and my friend as we had to leave early. Would recommend!
Although it was fun it was definitely not the thrill you’d expect. I’m giving it a 3 stars for 1. Nice staff 2. Good management. The other two go down because 1. Bad prices.. 100 per person. And 2. How much time you have to take out for other people because of subpar group management.
This is a hidden gem. It’s right downtown but you would never know it. It’s tranquil quiet. Do yourself a favour check Kasugai Gardens out. Beautiful place for a little solitude 🌞
I would give ZERO stars if that was an option. We stopped in to pick up a few bottles of wine/not tasting as I’ve had some of their wine before. We picked a few bottles from their wine store and went directly to pay. The lady at the till advised us that one of the Rose I selected to purchase was for “members only”. I had to sign up for their membership to buy it! There was no sign, no indication that this was a members-only wine on the shelf. How does this place expect to bring in loyal members if they require you to sign up for a membership and then have their wine on the shelf for anyone to purchase?? The person at the till even commented that it’s not right…that you should be able to purchase the wine without a membership. Hey Sandhill – maybe if I can buy your wine and try it, I’ll become a member??? ever think of that? Needless to say, I will not be returning – as there are 100’s of other, better, wineries in the Kelowna and OK area.
A wonderful wine tasting experience! My girlfriend and I were visiting Kelowna and decided to do our very first wine tasting here. We did the Lots Portfolio tasting for $25 and got around ~10 wines in which we could choose 5 to taste. 2 of the 5 were very expensive ice wines that were an absolute blast to try! The ambience was great too because of the sleek and modern interior of the space. Our hostess was a wonderfully intelligent person who explained everything very well and answered all our questions with top notch answers – thanks Kate! Would recommend to anyone having their first (or tenth) wine tasting!!
We just visited the Sandhill winery in Kelowna and Selina was our wine hostess. The wine was fantastic, but Selina made the experience memorable. She was very knowledgeable about the wine and just a very nice person. Loved everything about it.
It was pleasant to kill some time at Strathcona while I waited for a friend’s hospital appointment to finish. I was very pleased at the amount of available parking. There are grounds renovations of some kind going on, and affected areas were fenced off, and did not affect mid-week enjoyment of the park.
Good place if you like sand beaches. Having said that you have to go other ways if you want to see clear water. Good thing you can do that it is very shallow for way long time.
If you want a happenin vibe and a party atmosphere, don’t come here. Strathcona Beach is a smallish park tucked away in a residential area such that the tourists and party hounds don’t know about it. And that’s just the way the locals want it. Mostly families and couples taking up some grassy space or laying on the nice sand beach. A children’s playground and washroom facilities round out the amenities… and a small parking lot. It’s also good to know that the water stays relatively shallow for a fair distance… safer for little ones and the water is warmer because of it. And of course, if you get injured and need medical assistance, the hospital is right behind your back. 4 stars.
Beautiful park. Awesome view of the lake. Nice tennis courts and fun playground however there isn’t actually a sandy beach at the water’s edge, just a sudden wall! I’d be careful with the little ones should they decide to head for the water! There IS some beach on the north end of the park but I’m not sure at what point it becomes private property, maybe just be cautious around the boats and docks.
Tons of shade. Tennis courts, a unique tree for the kids to climb. Access to the lake. All in all a very functional park. Two parking lots. Highly recommend on a hot day.
It is a shame that the only good place to have fun is close! using mask will be possible after all when people are flying they are near is n it? No make sense ! And is important for having fun in life ! Is against depression!
